What cashew grades do you supply?

We supply W240, W320 and W450 white whole kernels, white splits, and graded butts and pieces. W320 is the most widely traded grade and the usual starting point for a new programme. All five grades come off the same processing line at our facility in Bissau.

What is the difference between W240 and W320 cashews?

The number is the approximate kernel count per pound, so it describes size rather than quality. W240 runs to about 220–240 kernels per pound and W320 to about 300–320, which makes W240 the larger and more visually premium kernel. W240 suits gifting and premium retail packs; W320 suits mainstream retail, roasting and snack manufacturing at a lower unit cost.

What does W320 mean?

W320 means White Whole 320: a white whole cashew kernel with approximately 300 to 320 kernels per pound, equivalent to roughly 660 to 706 per kilogram. It is the benchmark grade in international cashew trade and the most commonly contracted specification worldwide.

Do you sell cashew nuts wholesale?

Yes. Bissau Kernel Co. supplies wholesale cashew kernels on contract to supermarkets and retail groups, ingredient manufacturers, roasters and packers, importers and distributors. We work on annual and multi-shipment contracts as well as single container loads, and we do not sell to consumers.

What is your minimum order quantity?

Minimum quantities depend on grade, packing format and destination, and are confirmed on enquiry. Most of our supply moves in full container loads, and we can discuss smaller opening volumes for buyers who want to trial a specification before committing to a programme.

Which Incoterms do you trade on?

We quote FOB Port of Bissau as standard, with CIF terms available to major European, Gulf, North American and West African ports. The applicable terms are confirmed in writing with each quotation.

How do I get a price for cashew kernels?

Accepted Answer

Send your grade, volume, packing preference and destination port through the quote request form and we respond within two working days with an indicative price, the technical specification and an available shipment window. Cashew kernel prices move with the raw nut market, so quotations are issued against a stated validity period.

Can I request samples before ordering?

Yes. Samples of the relevant grade are prepared for your quality team as part of the specification stage, before any contract is agreed. Tell us which grades you want to assess when you submit your enquiry.

Which countries do you export to?

Accepted Answer

We export from the Port of Bissau to Europe, the Gulf, North America and West African regional markets. Guinea-Bissau benefits from duty-free access into the European Union under Everything But Arms arrangements, which applies to processed kernels as well as raw nuts.

How are your cashew kernels packed?

Whole kernels are vacuum-packed in food-grade tins or pouches inside export cartons where the programme requires it, and packed in bulk food-grade cartons where it does not. Splits and pieces ship in bulk food-grade export cartons. Every pack is labelled with grade, lot code and production date.

Is your cashew supply traceable?

Yes. Raw nuts are bought through documented cooperative, aggregator and direct channels, and each intake is recorded against a lot code that follows the material through conditioning, shelling, grading, packing and shipment. Lot-level traceability documentation travels with the container.

What food safety and quality standards do you work to?

Accepted Answer

The facility is being built and documented to ISO 22000 and BRCGS food safety requirements, with certification audits scheduled after commissioning.
